About Velden Audio

We make near-field desk audio: equipment voiced for the distance people actually sit at, and measured one unit at a time.

Why we started

Velden Audio started from a straightforward frustration. Desk speakers are sold on measurements taken in a room and then used at arm’s length, where those measurements stop describing anything useful. The reviews are honest, the numbers are real, and neither tells you what the thing will do eighty centimetres from your face on a hard wooden surface.

So everything here is voiced and measured at the distance it will be used, and every unit ships with the plot for that unit rather than for the model. If yours reads differently from the published curve, we would rather hear about it than not.

Why we started

Three pieces, three jobs

Rather than one product claiming to do everything, the range splits by what you listen on. The A1 is for speakers on a desk. The A2 is for headphones. The Desk Mat is for the surface underneath either, which is doing more to the sound than most people expect.

What is in them

Full specifications sit on each product page, and the measurement plot for your own unit ships in the box. Nothing published here is a claim about what you will measure at home, because your desk and your room are part of that result and ours are not.

Three pieces, three jobs. None of them needs the others to make sense.
